Apply online for a poodle from Florida Poodle Rescue.
Please remember that our goal is to find the right Forever Home for each dog. Our application may ask a lot of questions but it is in the best interest of dogs and you to answer all of them.
This is an online application to adopt a poodle from Florida Poodle Rescue, Inc. If you prefer, an application can be printed and mailed to Florida Poodle Rescue, P.O. Box 7336, St. Petersburg, FL 33734.
We strive to make wise and permanent placements for each poodle. Remember, the more conditions that you make (i.e. color, coat type, age, and sex), the longer it will take! Please be open-minded to the different qualities that each poodle has to offer.

- Applicants are willing to spend $45 (Toys & Minis) to $100 (Standards ) every 5-8 weeks for grooming.
Not everyone who applies is able to adopt from Florida Poodle Rescue, Inc. Our mission is to find homes best suited for our poodles.
Adoption Fees
Your adoption fee is applied directly to our vet bills and pays for the poodle's sterilization, fecal exam, vaccines, microchip (if applicable), and on-going care while in the adoption program. No FPR volunteers are paid. Even though the adoption fees help offset our medical bills, they often do not cover the money needed to care for the dog while in the FPR program. We still depend on donations from the public, and your support is greatly appreciated.
The Adoption Process
Once your application has been completed and submitted, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that your application was received successfully. Volunteers try their best to process applications within 10 days time. We have an average of 100 applications per month. It may take less than 10 days or slightly more. Please be patient. This is strictly a volunteer organization.
Try to avoid "falling in love" with a particular Poodle you see online - another application may have already been chosen as a best fit for a dog that you see online. We place Poodles where we think he or she will be a successful addition, and not on a first-come-first-served basis.
The Application Acknowledgment
If you applied online you will receive an email confirmation. If you submitted a paper application you will receive a postcard acknowledgment. Please note that paper applications will take 3-4 weeks to process.
The Matching Process
We generally have a waiting list of people wanting to adopt, but placements are not made on a first-come first-serve basis. As dogs come into the program we go through our applications and choose from applicants that we feel will be the best match for the dog.
The Phone Interview
You will be contacted by a volunteer who will review your application information with you. Your veterinarian and groomer references will also be checked. The inability to contact any of your references will cause a delay in the adoption process.
The Home Visit
We require a home visit before a placement can be made. One of our volunteers will arrange to meet with you in your home environment. The information from the home visit will be used to help match you with a dog suitable for your home and lifestyle. All family members must be present.
Meet the Poodle
When a potential match has been made, the dog's foster parent will arrange to meet the applicant/family with the dog. The volunteer foster parent, having lived with the dog, has the most information about his/her personality, characteristics and needs and will make sure that a potential adopter is comfortable with the dog.
The Adoption Contract
Upon adoption you will be required to read and sign a legally binding contract detailing the terms and conditions of the adoption. Click here to read the contract
Your Donation to Florida Poodle Rescue
A minimum donation ranging from $150-$500 is required at the time of adoption. The donation amount will be determined by Florida Poodle Rescue and is used to cover, among other things, the expenses of spaying/neutering, vaccination, heartworm testing and grooming each of our dogs. FPR is a non-profit organization and all money goes to caring for the Poodles that we rescue
Our volunteers make every effort to ensure that the application process moves forward at a steady pace. The timeframe for each adoption will vary and can range from one month to up to one year or longer to find a suitable match. We appreciate your patience
If you have read the above information and wish to submit an adoption application you may apply online or you may download, print and mail your application
