Donations Support Rescue Operations, Foster Home Care, Rehab & Permanent Adoptions
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, Florida Poodle Rescue, Inc. is wholly dependent on private donations to fund our day-to-day operations in rescuing, fostering & permanently placing abused, abandoned and unwanted Toy Poodles, Miniature Poodles & Standard Poodles.
Why We Need Your Help Today!
Today’s Florida Poodle Rescue operational needs are both greater, and different, than when we first began more than fifteen years ago in 1994.
- We rescue, foster, rehabilitate and permanently place more poodles in caring adopted homes than ever before.
- The cost of veterinary medical care, medicines and behavioral rehabilitation care is constantly rising.
- Many rescued abused, abandoned and unwanted poodles have special physical, medical or behavioral needs requiring increased amounts of veterinary care or rehabilitation care, often translating into increased interim foster home care, prior to being placed in a permanent home of a loving family.
Here’s How to Help
In this critical time of need, we are asking for your help. Please give what you can. The financial generosity of individual donors is how we exist, and is vital to sustaining Florida Poodle Rescue. There are many ways to support the work of Florida Poodle Rescue.
And, remember, your donation is tax deductable.

Be a “Poodle Parent” - The Poodle Adoption Program.
We strive to make wise and permanent placements for each poodle. Remember, the more conditions that you make (i.e. color, coat type, age, and sex) in your Adoption Application, the longer it will take! Please be open-minded to the different qualities that each poodle has to offer.
A very “hands-on” way to help Florida Poodle Rescue is to become a volunteer. There are volunteer opportunities such as helping with special fundraising events such as the Annual Back to the 50’s Sock Hop FUNdraiser, the Annual Poodle Picnic FUNdraiser, or you can volunteer to become a temporary Poodle Foster Home providing rehabilitation care to rescued poodles prior to placement in a permanent home. Click here to learn more about becoming a "Poodle Parent".
Be a Temporary Poodle Foster Home.
The growing population of abused, abandoned and unwanted poodles has created the need for interim, temporary foster homes until the permanent poodle placement process can be completed. Many rescued poodles need continued medical care, behavioral care, rehabilitation, recuperation, grooming --- and simply “love” before they can be adopted. Click here to learn more about Fostering.
The Poodle Foster Home Rehabilitation Care Program enlists the aid of generous volunteers who agree to keep the rescued poodles in interim foster care until permanent owners can be matched with them.
The period in foster home care can vary from a week to several months.
Foster care provides another important benefit --- time to observe the dog and learn its personality traits. This is valuable information that FPR uses to match the dog with a prospective permanent owner and home.
There is always an urgent need for additional foster homes.
Be a “Guardian Angel” to a “Poodle-in-Special Need”
Many of our rescued poodles have very special medical or rehabilitation needs. Some have suffered extraordinary abuse and others have complications due to the onset of old age. The FPR Guardian Angel Fund allows compassionate & caring donors to dedicate their contributions on behalf of the medical & rehabilitation needs of a specific “poodle-in-special-need”.
- Guardian Angel donations are dedicated only to that poodle-in-special-need which has been specifically identified by the donor.
- NOTE – If the Guardian Angel Fund donations exceed the amounts requested for a specific poodle-in-special-need, the funds are then utilized on the next most critical poodle patient.
