Lucy and Desi are a pair of miniature poodles who were left in the night drop of a local shelter. Their eyes and mouths were matted shut, and they were covered with fleas and ticks. Being a bonded pair, FPR made sure they were adopted together.

MacArthur was found on the streets in St Petersburg. He had an injured arm, a golfball sized tumor on his rear, and cigarette burns on his head, back and testicles. With all he endured, including the subsequent veterinary care, he was still sweet and loving. He now lives in Sarasota and enjoys boating with his new family.

Peanut is a maltese who came from a raided puppy mill in Palm Beach County. She had over 225 ticks on her small, 4 lb, body. Because of dental disease, it was necessary to remove the few teeth she had. Peanut's foster parents fell in love with her and adopted her into their family.

Max was found tied to a tree in the woods near Lake Okeechobee. He was heartworm-positve, dehydrated and undernourished. His fur was horribly matted and his skin was sunburned. FPR provided treatment and rehabilitation. He now lives in Fort Lauderdale with his new family.

Chloe spent her life in a kennel as the brood female for a backyard breeder. Her teeth were rotten from malnutrition and many had to be removed. A severe case of hookworms made her too anemic to be spayed immediately. She was properly treated and then adopted by a retired couple living in Orlando.

When Lucky was given up, he was malnourished, he had never been to a vet, his nails were three inches long, he had dreadlocks for hair and his ears were infected. He had been sleeping outside all of his three years. It took seven baths to get the bugs off him and three hours to shave clean. Lucky now has a new home and a couple of new poodle siblings.

Scarlet was turned over by a good Samaritan who found her wandering near US-441. When she was shaved, her fur came off in one huge, matted piece that weighed almost as much as she did. Underneath, her skin was very irritated. A few months later, she was healed and beautiful. She now lives in South Beach with her new owners.
